Design & Build
The Odyssey 3D G90XF is a striking 27-inch monitor with an ergonomic stand and a clean, modern aesthetic that houses its specialized 3D hardware. The eye-tracking cameras are integrated discreetly along the bezel. Elsewhere in Samsung’s range, the 32-inch OLED M9 brings a gorgeous QD-OLED panel with smart features and Vision AI, while the curved Odyssey G5 and flat S3 models offer more conventional but well-built designs. Across the board, Samsung’s fit and finish is excellent, with sturdy stands and thoughtful cable management.
Performance
The Odyssey 3D is the headline act, pairing its glasses-free 3D effect with a 4K resolution, 165Hz refresh, and a 1ms response time, so it remains a top-tier gaming monitor even when you are playing in standard 2D. The 3D effect is best in supported content and adds real depth. For pure image quality, the OLED M9 with its 4K QD-OLED panel, 165Hz refresh, and 0.03ms response is stunning, delivering perfect blacks and vivid color. The QHD Odyssey G5 at 180Hz and the FHD S3 at 120Hz are more affordable options that still deliver smooth, enjoyable gaming.

Alternatives to Consider
If the glasses-free 3D novelty is what draws you, the Odyssey 3D G90XF is the only real choice, and it doubles as an excellent 4K gaming monitor. For the best all-around image quality, the OLED M9 with its QD-OLED panel is spectacular. Gamers who want great performance at a lower price should consider the QHD Odyssey G5 at 180Hz or the FHD S3, both of which deliver smooth, reliable gaming without the premium features.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Odyssey 3D really work without glasses?
Yes. It uses eye-tracking and a lenticular lens to project a 3D image directly to your eyes. The effect is genuine, though it works best from a centered seating position in supported content.
Is the Odyssey 3D a good monitor for regular gaming?
Absolutely. Even setting aside the 3D feature, it is a top-tier 4K 165Hz panel with a fast 1ms response, so it excels at everyday 2D gaming too.
How much 3D content is available?
Support is growing but still limited to specific games and media. Think of the 3D effect as a bonus rather than the primary reason to buy.
Should I choose the Odyssey 3D or the OLED M9?
Choose the Odyssey 3D for the unique glasses-free experience, or the OLED M9 if pure image quality with perfect blacks and vivid color is your priority.
