Design & Build
The NUC 14 Pro keeps the classic square silhouette but refines it with genuinely toolless chassis access on the taller “Tall” variant, letting you get to RAM and storage in seconds. Build quality is excellent, the VESA mount lets you bolt it behind a display for an invisible setup, and the port selection is generous for the size, with Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 across the range. Whether you pick a compact slim model or the taller full-system version, everything feels solid and thoughtfully engineered.
Performance
Configurations span from the Intel Ultra 5 125H up to the Ultra 7 155H, and the difference shows in multitasking and light creative work. The Ultra 7 155H models with 32GB or 64GB of DDR5 handle dozens of browser tabs, office apps, and video calls without breaking a sweat, and the integrated Intel Arc GPU manages 8K HDR output and quad 4K display setups with ease. This is not a dedicated gaming rig, but for productivity, media, home-office duty, and even light photo editing it is genuinely fast, and the fast PCIe SSDs keep everything snappy.
Pros & Cons
- Powerful Core Ultra CPUs that handle demanding productivity workloads effortlessly.
- Tiny, VESA-mountable footprint that disappears behind a monitor.
- Excellent connectivity with Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 6E, and multi-4K/8K display support.
- Toolless access on the Tall model makes RAM and storage upgrades painless.
- Integrated graphics limit serious gaming compared to a tower with a discrete GPU.
- Higher-spec configs get pricey as you climb the RAM and storage ladder.
Alternatives to Consider
If you need discrete graphics power for gaming, a compact tower or a mini PC with a dedicated GPU makes more sense. Budget shoppers who only browse and stream can save with a lower-tier mini PC. But for a premium, upgradeable, do-everything small desktop, the NUC 14 Pro in an Ultra 7 155H configuration is hard to beat, especially the toolless Tall version for tinkerers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the ASUS NUC 14 Pro run multiple monitors?
Yes. Depending on configuration it supports quad 4K or 8K HDR output through its Thunderbolt 4 and display ports, making it excellent for expansive multi-monitor productivity setups.
Is it upgradeable?
The RAM and SSD are user-accessible, and the Tall model offers toolless entry. This makes the NUC far more upgrade-friendly than most sealed mini PCs.
Can it handle gaming?
The Intel Arc integrated graphics run older and lighter titles at modest settings, but this is a productivity machine first. Serious gamers should look to a system with a discrete GPU.
Does it come with Windows?
Most configurations ship with Windows 11 Pro, though there are Linux-oriented options for developers and business users who prefer to bring their own OS.
Verdict
The ASUS NUC 14 Pro is a superb mini PC that pairs real Core Ultra performance with a footprint you can mount out of sight. For most buyers, an Ultra 7 155H model with 32GB of RAM hits the sweet spot, and the toolless Tall chassis is our pick for anyone who values easy upgrades down the road.
