SteelSeries Rival 600 Video Review’s Avg rating is 4 out of 5 with 446 reviews. Let’s see some quotes of the most helpful reviewers.’s Most Helpful Reviews for SteelSeries Rival 600

“Rival 600 is the most fantastic mouse I have ever put my oversized hands on. It immediately felt great and it just molded to my hand so well. The sensors felt very snappy. And my aim is 10x more precise than with any corsair and razer mouse I’ve used “

No braided cable, it’s rubber and it sticks. (the cable detaches and you can connect braided micro USB, I’ve done it.) “

The following is the “highlights” from a reviewer who wrote his journey with gaming mice.

“1. I have large hands, and my most comfortable grip position makes my thumb rest on the non-standard furthest mouse button. Yet, I keep wanting to keep my thumb on the smooth silicone part just behind it even though bending my thumb back like that isn’t as comfortable. This discomfort, though minor, is present every day, every time I use the mouse. “

“2. The silicone material on both sides and on the primary top mouse buttons feels super premium and smooth. However, I think they also trap more heat. My hands get SUPER SWEATY when gaming with this mouse. “

“3. The right and left sides of the mouse, due to the silicone, is super smooth, but both sides are tapered upwards, resulting in a slippery, difficult time whenever I try to lift the mouse. I have to pinch it harder than I’d like to, and over a session of gaming, my hands get really tired. This is further is exacerbated by reason 2. “

And the last quote is the overall journey of the reviewer’s gaming mice.

“My gaming mouse journey enters the next chapter. From Deathadder 3G (button issue) -> whole bunch of mice -> G403 -> Rival 310 -> Rival 600 -> Deathadder Elite. “

Well this review should have been in the critical reviews. It doesn’t look like a positive one.

Let’s keep rolling with the positive reviews. The next i think is mostly positive!

“I purchased the Rival 600 a few days ago, I’ve had it for a couple of days now and wow. I am using this mouse to play Overwatch, CSGO and Battle Field One — My in game accuracy has in-fact improved, (from 45% hit average to 52%) is an understatement “

“The only issues I’ve had with the mouse is that the lift off sensor is TOO sensitive

Now let’s jump to the critical reviews.’s Most Critical Reviews for SteelSeries Rival 600

“The mouse is probably my favorite mouse I’ve used out of several Razer, Corsair, and Logitech mice (honorable mention to the Corsair M65). The only problem is the smooth rubber on the sides has weak adhesive (came off two Rival 600’s in less than 6 months after purchase) “

“The reason for 2 stars is because quality control issues with mice are not new for Steelseries, but more importantly, their support is probably the worst in the industry

“Mouse New – Amazing
Mouse if you’re having the grip glue problems – Junk
Cust Serv – Responsive and quick, all good here
1 Star Rating –
Problems within 1 year for a high end mouse is horrible and such a weird one at that. “

That 1 year thing happened to me with a Razer Naga. Really bad when you pay for a good gaming mouse and it breaks.

Now let’s continue by checking out Best Buy’s ratings and most helpful reviews.

Best Buy’s rating for SteelSeries Rival 600 is 4.6 out of 5 with 130 reviews.

Best Buy’s Most Helpful Reviews for SteelSeries Rival 600

“My current mouse was the Corsair Glaive, I enjoyed it but I was looking for something just a touch smaller and lighter. After looking at quite a few mice I decided to trust my best friends recommendation of SteelSeries “

“My only complaints would be in regards to the side buttons and the software. Only 1 of the side buttons is easy to reach for me but it’s not a big deal since I don’t care for side buttons much anyways. “

My Logitech G703 went out so I needed a new mouse and was very interested in the SteelSeries ones because of the reviews on many different websites “

“I originally went with the Rival 310 but when I tried it out, the mouse had a rattle on the left mouse button. I exchanged it the next day and I had the same issue with my second one so I decided to go with the Rival 600 “

Next, let’s see what negative reviewers have to say.

Best Buy’s Most Critical Reviews for SteelSeries Rival 600

After a month of use the adhesive has turned to goo and both grips have fallen off this EXPENSIVE mouse. What a waste of money. My first and LAST steelseries product…. NEXT!!!!! “

“Excited to try the mouse out in a game, I loaded up Destiny only to see that when I tried to aim down sights with the right click, it wouldn’t work unless is gently (and I mean gently) pressed it down. Even then, it would still only work half of the time. “

“This mouse stopped working for unknown reasons after 2 months of regular use. “

“Compared to the SteelSeries Rival 310, this actually felt like a step back for a mouse. It has 2 sensors. One of them being a customized PMW 3360 (they call it TrueMove 3). Aside from that, it ‘looks’ like a DeathAdder with a slimmer front (not flared out) “

“It’s a very well balanced mouse but the grip is very wide in the middle for some reason. I really had a tough time doing flick shots and quick swipes due to how large this mouse is “

“The one thing that makes it a 2/5 is the shape on the right hand side of the mouse, it feels like the curve is slowly pushing the mouse out of your hand when you lift off and the rubberized grips do little to keep it in place (even with none of the optional weight in, it still falls) “

Reddit’s Most Helpful Reviews for SteelSeries Rival 600

“Everything except the rubber pad adhesive
“It the best, most smooth and precise mouse I have used. It’s almost as ergonomic as my Logitech MX 1100 and Performance MX. It has great lighting and in general it’s just a beauty. “

great shape for right-handers
buttons are easy to customize and in convenient locations (imo, varies for hand size)
custom weight options are quite nice
rgb is fun
removable cord “

“each mouse i have owned that had “rubber”/silicon etc. sides peeled off and even developed holes in it, where you keep the thumb it’s the most vulnerable zone. I am worried about this mouse too, I see my hand oils starting to seep into the material, and I’m cleaning it like each 2-3 days, and I’m not even the type that sweats a lot. “

“the side button is too far from my thumb, so it’s not that easy to use as the thumb buttons on Logitech mice, but you can adapt and stretch a bit “

Break Time!

Not really much on Amazon’s helpful reviews, claiming that the problem is Synapse 3.0. Let’s see.

“So… why the 4 stars? Synapse. This version (Synapse 3 beta) is something I hope they continue to work on. It’s lost the intuitive feel previous versions have had. And no, previous versions weren’t perfect. In fact, it would often stop loading profiles, do strange things to the lights of the BlackWidow X Chroma, then load a single color profile “

“Synapse 3 made it harder for me to program an RGB profile for the keyboard. However, I can set individual functions to individual buttons on the mouse “

Let’s see the critical reviews, which are more helpful.’s Most Critical Reviews for Razer Naga Trinity

“Ok – I originally rated this 1 star because the side buttons didn’t work randomly. Some would work, some wouldn’t. Then you restart your PC and the ones that worked and didn’t work are different now. “

“To fix it, I just uninstalled Razer Synapse 2.0 since the mouse installs 3.0 for you to remove any conflicts. Then I removed and reconnected the side panel while it was still connected to my PC and rebooted my PC one more time for good measure. Now it has been working 100% for the last 2 days

“Update #3: The mouse is failing again. It’s not even lighting up. Synapse 3 updated last night and broke it. This is way too many problems for a mouse. I wish I could get something different at this point. “

“When I first received the mouse, it was mildly frustrating that the layout and feel of the buttons, as well as shape, size, weight of the mouse and scroll wheel had changed drastically (for the worse) since my last Naga. I’ve been using Razer Nagas for 8 years and have never complained about the changes (and they’ve gone through a lot since the Razer Naga Epic back in 2010,) but these are terrible. “

“Since day 1, the scroll wheel (which now scrolls in huge clicky steps,) has had this extremely frustrating problem where it scrolls down after finishing a scroll up, and vice versa. This is a huge problem in everything I do on my computer, from video games to browsing the internet “

“After only a couple weeks of use, the side mouse buttons would completely stop working. I was infuriated with this, but I found that taking off the side panel, blowing it off and replacing it fixed the problem. This I could deal with, as long as it only happened a couple times a month. But it’s started to happen every other day now

“Though this may just be a personal problem, this is the first mouse out of the Razer lineup where I’ve experienced severe pain in my right hand. I believe this is due to poorly designed ergonomics and the increased weight of the mouse. This mouse has taken 50 steps back from the mouse they released 8 years ago. It’s crazy! “

“Now for the most recent problem. The last straw, and why this will be the last time I purchase something from Razer again. Yesterday I noticed in World of Warcraft that my character was constantly stuttering while moving by holding both mouse buttons. I figured that it was some kind of FPS lag, but no, the mouse already has the infamous Razer double clicking problem

“I really want to love these mice, I really do, but man, they all end up having the same issues. I have gone through 3 of these in the last 5 years”
“I have to take the plate of constantly to stop buttons from getting stuck. I am giving 2 stars because there at least is an easy and quick fix, but you basically have to do it all the time now “

Best Buy’s Most Helpful Reviews for Razer Naga Trinity

On Best Buy, Razer Naga Trinity has 4.5 out of 5 Average score with 345 reviews. But let’s see below some quotes of the most helpful review(13 people found it helpful).

“The build quality of the mouse is nice. The side button panels are held on by magnets and can be switched freely even while it’s plugged in. This allows to switch from one button setup to another when switching between games. This is a good novel idea for those who has a wide array of PC games “

Profile switching is laggy. As in, the moment you switch out, there’s a momentary pause in mouse functionality
Unlike the previous version of the software, there is no brief pause in the mouse when you switch between programs. There’s a delay in switching the profile but the experience is still smooth. “

“Overall, the mouse isn’t what I had hoped it’d be. The idea/concept is great. But the execution is downright terrible
Verdict: Don’t buy. Not recommended for any scenario. “

I have owned a Razer Naga the old one, and the tracking wasn’t working after 1 and half years. I didn’t have any problems during my time of use.

  1. I was recently just considering getting a mouse for my HP Pavilion Notebook but didn’t know which to go for.

Tha.ks for this article, I have seen what others experienced with both the Raza Nagar and Steel Series brand.

And, from your personal experience with your comparison of them, I think I would also prefer going for the Steel Series Rival 600.

    1. Yes, Steel Series will be safer to buy. If i buy Razer again, it will be the Deathadder(or something different than Naga).

  2. In search for a better mouse for gaming, I accidentally landed here in this review. Before, I didn’t know these kind of mouse exist. Our mind usually revolves in brands like A4Tech and LogiTech, and most of my players are just contented using them and were not demanding for a different model. But after reading your review here, I am confused of whether to buy one of these described in this article, or should I continue searching for a equivalent mouse but with a more established brand like A4Tech? I wonder if A4Tech has its own versions of these mouse models.

    1. I hear first time about A4Tech. I saw their website the gaming mice look good enough. 4000 DPI is good enough for most games. Well since i don’t know about them can’t tell you my thoughts (there aren’t yet!). If you know the brand is producing good quality mice that don’t break over time you should get one of them.

  3. This looks like the perfect gaming mouse for my son!  The light colors, the options, perfect!  His birthday is next month, and this is a great birthday idea for him, since he always tells me that he doesn’t want anything.  Leaving me to come up with something for him.  I am confused about the detachable cable.  Does that mean that it is a wireless mouse then?  I have to take a look at his current mouse and see if it is wireless or not.

    1. No, it’s not wireless but you can detach the cable for example to change it or make it easier to move the mouse (if you are travelling).

Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum can be used both as wired and wireless and it’s ambidextrous. But its price is a little higher than these mice compared in this post. Happy birthday to your son!
