Everyone knows about Razer Naga. This post will be a mix of a review and personal opinion around it and gaming mice in general. (Note : you should check this link first if you want to learn about gaming mouse technical information).

Review Analysis

263 customer reviews. 161 positive, 102 critical. I will start with the critical reviews. Let’s see some extracts of some reviewers :

Critical Reviews

“Ok – I originally rated this 1 star because the side buttons didn’t work randomly. Some would work, some wouldn’t. Then you restart your PC and the ones that worked and didn’t work are different now. “ To fix it, I just uninstalled Razer Synapse 2.0 since the mouse installs 3.0 for you to remove any conflicts” “Update #3: The mouse is failing again. It’s not even lighting up. Synapse 3 updated last night and broke it”. (Review Link found helpful by 36 people). Let’s see another : “So about 4-5 months ago my Razer Naga Chroma had a problem with two of the side buttons (1 and 7) requiring significantly more force than intended to actuate. I wasn’t surprised that the mouse was having problems, as I usually have to replace Razer mice after a couple years or so, and this one was reaching the end of its life” . “When I first received the mouse, it was mildly frustrating that the layout and feel of the buttons, as well as shape, size, weight of the mouse and scroll wheel had changed drastically (for the worse) since my last Naga “. “Since day 1, the scroll wheel (which now scrolls in huge clicky steps)”. “This is awful, and it happens all the time, but that’s not the only problem with this mouse.” “After only a couple weeks of use, the side mouse buttons would completely stop working.” “ This mouse has taken 50 steps back from the mouse they released 8 years ago. It’s crazy! ” (Review Link found helpful by 36 people)

Looks like the previous reviewer has lots of experience with Razer Naga mice. I had only one (the older model), my experience (in gaming) was good (i was playing Lineage 2 US server with a bishop) but it didn’t last long. Let’s see what other things the previous reviewer has written .

“Now for the most recent problem. The last straw, and why this will be the last time I purchase something from Razer again. The mouse already has the infamous Razer double clicking problem. About half of my left clicks are registered twice now.”

Another reviewer said that the mouse is uncomfortable for small hands (Review Link found helpful by 8 people).

Positive Reviews

Let’s see an extract of the most positive review (that 50 people found helpful). ” I’ve been using this mouse for about a month now. ” ”
They say you have to reboot your computer to change out the panels, but that’s simply not true. Synapse recognizes the changes on the fly, and the mouse doesn’t suffer any adverse effects. Pop one off, put another one on. Simple.” ” So… why the 4 stars? Synapse. This version (Synapse 3 beta) is something I hope they continue to work on. It’s lost the intuitive feel previous versions have had. And no, previous versions weren’t perfect. In fact, it would often stop loading profiles, do strange things to the lights of the BlackWidow X Chroma, then load a single color profile “. “
I hope you’re listening Razer. You claim to be ‘by gamers, for gamers‘ ”

Personally, i would give Razer another chance (if i have the luxury) because gamers love their gaming gear and the only reason the are not gonna buy them anymore is because they fail hard. Gamers (i think all types) pay a lot of attention to detail because good gaming is like running and aiming . It’s not browsing the web. Gamers spend lots of time playing games and at least don’t want their source of frustration to be from the equipment – there is plenty frustration from failing a game objective – see LoL for example players curse you in a blink of an eye(at least in Elo Hell but most people are there) – no need to curse for other stuff too.

Warranty PDF from Amazon. “IF YOU PURCHASED THE PRODUCT FROM A RAZER RESELLER, PLEASE CONTACT THE RAZER RESELLER IN REGARDS TO YOUR LIMITED WARRANTY CLAIM. If your Razer reseller is in the United States or Canada, they will only assist you with your warranty claim for 30 days from the date of your purchase ” . If 30 days have passed , you can follow instruction on page 3. Razer gives 2 year warranty for mice (page 4) (that’s good. When i bought it it was one year and it broke after 1 and half year). Note : manufacturer’s warranty is valid only if purchased by authorized reseller or directly from Razer.

  1. Thanks for Razer Naga review. I like to deal with faulty equipment on my own special way 😀 let’s just say that it won’t work anymore after that.

  2. Great review about Razor Naga, but how does this differ and perform better in comparison to other gaming mice?

    • As far as i researched, i found that the performance isn’t the problem. It’s that the mouse dies faster or problems occur faster than other mice in the same category.

So many problems (not so much perfomance related) reported by people . Logitech G600 (which is a mouse that is compared to Razer Naga) is a solid mouse (as reported by people) and few have problems with it. The main problem they have with G600 is the grip issue(it doesn’t adjust well to their hand). I hear good word about Corsair Scimitar. My friend will buy a SteelSeries mouse. My next gaming mouse choice will be Logitech but i won’t say i won’t buy Razer again. In an ideal scenario, i will buy all mice that i think are good and good word is flowing around and give them a ride myself (or give some of them to other friends because i have one hand can’t try them all at the same time).

  3. Thanks for sharing your review about the Razer Naga.
I haven`t tried to use this kind of mouse, i will check on it.
    All the best!

    • I hope if you buy a Razer Naga to be luckier than me and have it “working” for at least 2-3 years!
