Logitech G203 Prodigy Review – Intro

Keep reading about this Logitech G203 Prodigy Review if you are interested in a gaming mouse that is cheap and is even used by pros. Let the rat race begin!

So you want to learn about the Logitech G203 and if it is worth buying? Well it certainly is worth buying because don’t know if you know but Logitech makes good quality mice that last a long time.

Especially if you only had non gaming mice, the Logitech G203 is certainly worth your money (well not too expensive!). If you play CS:GO, there is a reviewer at Amazon.co.uk that played with this mouse at SMFC rank (which i googled and it is the 2nd highest).

DPI

Well, DPI is how much the cursor moves in the screen for an inch that the mouse moves. The higher the DPI the more sensitive the cursor. Check out the following video for a practical explanation of DPI (or CPI).

In short, you don’t need high DPI unless you play on a 4K screen. Logitech G203 has a maximum of 8000 DPI, which makes it more than enough DPI to play your games.

This particular mouse has DPI increments of 50, which is very useful for adjusting your sensitivity with greater accuracy.

Logitech G203 Prodigy

The best gaming mouse at this Price Range. Can play CS:GO at SMFC rank.

Editor's Rating:
5

But if i were to make a “priority list”, i would make the following.

Amazon UK

  1. Logitech G203
  2. SteelSeries Rival 110
  3. Titanwolf
  4. Rytaki

The other mice i don’t like so much so i wouldn’t consider buying them. (unless all failed or dissapointed me).

Amazon US

  1. Logitech G203
  2. SteelSeries Rival 110
  3. Redragon M801
  4. Redragon M901
  5. Logitech G402

The others i wouldn’t buy unless all my mice that i listed failed!

Conclusion

Logitech G203 Prodigy Review - Conclusion Image

Concluding this Logitech G203 Prodigy Review, i would to mention some basic grounds on how to make a choice on a gaming mouse.

As you can see or you already know, most mice offer little or less the same specs (DPI, programmable buttons, RGB settings etc.), the most important thing is the ergonomics. If those buttons cannot be pressed well, or if the grip if not comfortable, the other specs don’t do justice.

Also the durability of the materials. Materials must endure the every day grinding and an expensive mouse should be able to be usable for at least 2 years.

If you want something more bulkier with more buttons (but a bit more expensive), you can check out my Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury Review!

If you want something with many buttons, check out my Logitech G600 MMO Mouse Review! (Note : Don’t know why but the price in the UK is high).

P.S : Ok I get it now you want this !

  1. Now this is what I call a time-saving guide on choosing a gaming mouse! Thank you George for putting up this Logitech G203 review, as well as displaying a priority list for gaming mice to choose from. I’m just wondering whether it would still be worth the switch to this mouse even if I don’t do gaming? The current one I’m using still works, you know.

    • Well, if your current mouse doesn’t present any problems, and you don’t play games, there is no need of buying a new one. Unless you wanna buy for a change of atmosphere! (or for geeking reasons hehe).

  2. Hi George,

This was quite an educational experience for me, and peaked my interest. I don’t do the gaming, but my mouse is shot! I do a lot of typing and mousing on my PC. So, with all these mice to choose from, which one would you recommend. Would the Logitech G203 be overkill for me or not? BTW, I do have a Logtech wireless mouse on my Chromebook, and I love it! Thanks for the great review!

    Chas

    • Well the Logitech G203 is not overkill since it’s quite cheap and Logitech is good brand. I have a Logitech RX 250 (very old 10 years or more) and I plan to upgrade to Logitech G203.

I bought once a Razer Naga and it didn’t last long (about 1 and half years) and it was quite expensive. I would also get the G203 to polish this review further. Two birds with one stone! Cheers

  3. Any Logitech product is sure to be a boom success. I’ve heard so well about the Logitech g203 prodigy very well and I decided to search for it out of curiosity and I’m glad I wasn’t disappointed. This is a great gaming mouse and considering the pricing. I can bet its a great product for less price. I would get this for my son because I make use of the G402 already. Thanks

    • Cool that you are using the G402. You can leave a comment(if you like) on useful stats like how long you have it and what problems occured. I am planning to get a G203 for myself because i need something cheap for starters. Then i might get something more expensive like the G402 or G502 Hero. I really like good mice and getting my hands “dirty” with them. Also having a product will improve the review too.

Feel free to leave a comment about the G203 as well! Have a nice day.

  4. All I can say is wow, this mouse is so cool. There is nothing like having a piece of gaming equipment where you can spend a part of your time playing your favorite game while you have a cool piece of tech. I believe what you are sharing is so cool and will stir the interest of those who come across your post.

    • Thanks Norman I’m glad you found this post useful. The G203 is cheap and is quite popular. I’m thinking of taking it myself since I need something cheap for starters. Have a nice day.

  5. Since I am an IT Administrator, I found your article on the Logitech Mouse quite informative and I learnt a lot of information today that I had not know before.

The dots per inch fascinated me, because I can relate to that measuring the density of any graphic which is pixelated. So the ratio of mouse to graphic monitor density made all the sense to me whilst I was reading.  A few light bulbs went on and now I understand a whole lot more how a computer mouse works.

But when it comes to 18 programmable buttons you’ve lost me!

My how the technology has evolve in a steep learning curve in the last few years!

It’s amazing that such a small gadget can have such refined technology and also be so accurate in it’s performance, thereby enhancing anyone’s computer experience.

Thank you so much for compiling your review and helping us understand the finer details of an electronic mouse with a mind of it’s own!

    • Well the Logitech G203 has 6 buttons. You might confused it with one that was in the competition section. But if you want one with more buttons, you can check my Logitech G600 MMO Mouse Review.

Over the last years DPI has been raised quite a lot for mice but for most cases 4000 DPI is good enough. The G203 has max DPI of 6000 which make it more than enough to use (unless you have multiple monitors or a 4K monitor).

It’s cool that you an IT Admin, that means you know learning doesn’t stop. Myriad of things to learn and do. Glad you found this review helpful. Have a nice day.
